Salmon with Creamy Dill Sauce

Foil-baked salmon with lemon and onion, served with a sour cream and horseradish dill sauce.

  • 1salmon fillet, about 2 pounds
  • 1 to 1 1/2 tsplemon-pepper seasoning
  • 1 tsponion salt
  • 1small onion, sliced and separated into rings
  • 6lemon slices
  • 1/4 cupbutter, cubed
  • 1/3 cupsour cream, for the dill sauce
  • 1/3 cupmayonnaise, for the dill sauce
  • 1 tbsponion, finely chopped, for the dill sauce
  • 1 tsplemon juice, for the dill sauce
  • 1 tspprepared horseradish, for the dill sauce
  • 3/4 tspdill weed, for the dill sauce
  • 1/4 tspgarlic salt, for the dill sauce
  • pepper, to taste, for the dill sauce

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Line a 15x10x1-in. baking pan with heavy-duty foil and grease lightly. Place the salmon skin-side down on the foil. Sprinkle with lemon-pepper seasoning and onion salt, top with the onion and lemon slices, and dot with butter. Fold the foil around the salmon and seal tightly.

  2. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. Open the foil carefully, allowing steam to escape, then broil 4–6 in. from the heat until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
